Erica Burkhart (she/her), DNP, FNP-C, LLC is a family nurse practitioner who has worked in health care since 2002, in areas of reproductive health, psychiatry, and primary care. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and was the recipient of the Jonas Nurse Leaders scholarship.

Erica was one of the founders of Open Circle Health, LLC, whose mission is to work collaboratively with other nurse practitioners and to provide quality, trusted, relationship-based care. Her own practice within OCH focuses primarily on primary care and she has a love for pediatric care, reproductive health, and being a safe provider for the LGBTQA+ community.

Erica believes in the strength of the community and the need for public health measures, particularly through vaccination. She will encourage all of her patients to be vaccinated against all local communicable diseases, including Covid-19.

In addition, she provides a full spectrum of specialized reproductive health services including medication abortion up to 77 days of pregnancy.

She also provides competent and compassionate care to her trans and non-binary patients, including hormone replacement therapy and referrals to trusted specialists.

Erica is skilled at diagnosing and managing chronic health issues within her patient population. In addition to western medicine, she educates and engages patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes, using healing modalities including nutrition, herbal medicine, and movement.

Erica is grateful to live in Maine and loves spending time with her daughter, Lumi, her partner, Cory, and their many wonderful animals (4 chickens, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 horse).
